Late Fees

Beginning April 1, 2022, residential customers will have a late payment fee added to their current month’s bill if the balance is not paid by the due date listed on the bill. A late fee equal to 1.5% of the current month’s AEP Ohio charges will be added to the total amount due 7 days after the due date.

Take action now to help avoid late fees with Billing Alerts and Autopay.

Sign up for Billing Alerts to receive reminders:

  • 3 days before your payment is due
  • When your payment is received
  • If your account is pending disconnection for non-payment

AEP Ohio bills with a billing date on or after April 1, 2022, will have late fees applied if the balance remains unpaid 7 days after the bill due date.

Late fees are only applied if your bill is unpaid seven (7) days after the bill due date, so on-time payment in full will prevent late fees from being assessed. Take action now to help avoid late fees with Billing Alerts and Autopay.

The late fee is 1.5% of the current month’s AEP Ohio charges reflected on your bill.

This fee offsets the increased administrative costs incurred by AEP Ohio that result from late payments. On-time payments will lead to savings for all customers.
