Save with Public Charging Plug-In Electric Vehicle (PEV) Rate

Our Plug-In Electric Vehicle (PEV) rate offers a reduced electric rate to customers with a plug-in electric vehicle (EV). This rate is designed to reward you for helping to better balance demand on the electric grid.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This rate is available for commercial or public customers who have installed new EV charging stations after June 1, 2021. (If you are interested in a PEV rate for your home, visit here.)
  • The service to the DC-Fast or Level 2 charging station must be separately metered to participate in this pilot, and no other load sources may be included.
  • Charging stations under this tariff must be open to the general public.
  • The PEV Tariff is ONLY available if you have an AMI (smart) meter. Learn more about smart meters.
  • Limited Availability - Enrollment is open to the first 500 customers.

Seasonal On-Peak Hours

November 1 - April 30
6 a.m. - 9 a.m.
winter peak hours
May 1 - October 31
2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
summer peak hours

How the PEV Rate Works

  • Your electric bill will include a $9.40 customer charge for your EV service.
  • Demand charges and reactive power do NOT apply for public charging stations under this tariff.
  • Electricity usage (kWh) for your EV charging station will be billed at a reduced rate of 2.05802¢ / kWh.
