SAVE WITH TIME-OF-USE RATE

Our Time-of-Use (TOU) rate offers a tiered electric rate based on when you use power. Usage during off-peak periods is charged at a reduced rate, with a higher charge occurring during on-peak hours. This rate is designed to reward you for helping to better balance demand on the electric grid.

How Time-of-Use Works

May 1 - October 31 On-peak Hours: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.*
November 1 - April 30 On-peak Hours: 6 a.m. - 9 a.m.*
During these on-peak periods, electricity usage is charged at a higher rate.
Electricity usage during all other hours is charged at a reduced rate.
To help you save money, shift activities that use electricity in your home to off-peak times.

Before You Enroll

This billing rate is ONLY available to AEP Ohio residential customers on the Standard Service Offer (SSO). See details at tariff 015.
The Time-of-Use Tariff is ONLY available if you have an AMI (smart) meter. Learn more about smart meters.
It may take up to two billing periods after enrollment before you'll see the changes on your AEP Ohio bill.
