Have a Question About Trees on Your Property?

We're here to help. If you have a non-emergency tree-related concern, please complete the below form, email us at AEPOhioForestry@aep.com or call 614.883.6987.

When to Use This Form

If you have a non-emergency tree trimming or removal request, please fill out our form below.

Please note: we will not trim or remove trees strictly to protect private property.

You should never attempt to cut back or remove trees near our power lines — serious injury or even death can occur. Working on trees near power lines should only be attempted by trained professionals.

Service line: We do not maintain trees and brush around the service line, which is the power line that runs from our pole to your house. If you plan to or are planning to hire a private tree contractor to trim or remove trees near the service line, please call 800.672.2231 as soon as possible and the Customer Solutions team will schedule a time for a crew to disconnect the service line.

When To Do Something Else

Please report safety hazards immediately to 911 or to our Customer Solutions Center at 800.672.2231 (available 24 hours).

A safety hazard is a condition that poses an immediate risk to the public and can include:

  • Downed lines
  • Downed poles
  • Trees and branches that have fallen on or broken on power lines
  • Sparking or smoking power lines
  • Exposed wires (i.e., open door or other exposed wires on a transformer)

If you see any fallen wire, STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE from it and anything it may be touching.

Have a non-emergency tree trimming or removal request? Let's start here.

Our team will follow up on submitted forms within 10 business days.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Form submissions are not monitored 24/7. If a tree or branch has fallen on or broken on a power line, immediately report this safety hazard to 911 or call our Customer Solutions Center at 800.672.2231 (available 24 hours).

First, let’s confirm the tree interference (in relation to the property).
