The AEP Ohio Neighbor to Neighbor Program lends a hand to those who are experiencing financial hardships and need help to get back on their feet. Administered by Dollar Energy Fund, the program provides eligible customers with a utility assistance grant applied directly to their AEP Ohio bill. This grant helps limited-income customers maintain their basic electric service when behind more than 30 days on their electric bill. The process is simple to find out if you qualify.
There are two options to apply:
Use the Application Portal
Complete the online application to get qualified. You'll need to provide:
- A photo ID
- Your most recent utility bill
- Proof of income OR COVID-19 financial hardship including an unemployment filing notice or proof of unemployment benefits

If you prefer, you can complete and submit an application in person. Community agencies may be able to offer a variety of assistance beyond just help with your electric bill.
