PSO Employees Collect Donations To Help Customers Pay Energy Bills

July 27, 2005

Thanks to the generosity of PSO employees and retirees, more than $7,500 has been raised in special fundraising to help pay home energy bills for customers in need.

In recent weeks, PSO employees and retirees purchased more than $800 in tickets for pancake breakfasts is several locations across the state.  Also, employees contributed an additional $700 through other fundraising to donate, as well.

PSO will match the employee-collected dollars, along with other matches promised from other organizations, making the grand total raised more than $7,500 by PSO.

Each year, PSO and other utilities across the state schedule fundraising activities to help raise money for various assistance programs coordinated by The Salvation Army.  PSO’s program is Light A Life.

Year-round PSO customers can contribute to the Light A Life effort by paying a little extra on the bill and checking the Light A Life box at the top of the bill.

Since the program began in 1986, PSO’s generous customers have contributed more than $1.5 million to help Oklahomans in need with their energy bills.

All money collected from PSO customers goes directly to The Salvation Army for customers in need. PSO pays The Salvation Army’s administrative costs so that all customer collections go to help out.
