AEP SWEPCO Presents Energy Assistance Check to Local Community Agency in Texarkana

American Electric Power, parent company of AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (AEP SWEPCO), will contribute a total of $100 thousand dollars in 2004 to SWEPCO’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program for low-income customers.  This amount will benefit SWEPCO customers across 18 East Texas counties in over 60 towns and communities. 
·        Contributions to the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program in East Texas will total $100,000 distributed through eight community agencies. Funding comes from AEP’s State President’s office in Austin
·        Locally, the Texarkana Friendship Center, the agency that administers the program, will receive $20,000. 
 
When:             Friday, August 20, 2004, 10:00 a.m.
 
Where:             The Friendship Center, 620 West 4th St., Texarkana, Texas
 
 
Why:             AEP is providing funding to help low-income customers applying for assistance from SWEPCO’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor program this summer.
