BRIDGMAN, Mich., Oct. 21, 2003 - Joseph N. Jensen has been named site vice president responsible for American Electric Power’s (NYSE: AEP) Cook Nuclear Plant. The site vice president is responsible for plant operations and maintenance and reports to Mano K. Nazar, senior vice president and chief nuclear officer.
Jensen most recently held the position of plant manager at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant in Two Rivers, Wis.
“Joe’s proven experience and leadership in the nuclear industry will serve AEP well,” said Nazar. “His extensive background in plant operations and management will provide key leadership skills that will help move the Cook Nuclear Plant to excellence.”
Jensen also spent 15 years at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Station, where he held positions of training manager, engineering director and production planning manager. He was also the project manager for Northern States Power Co.’s (now Xcel Energy) High-Level Waste initiatives.
Jensen completed the Executive Development Program at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from Cardinal Stritch University.
Cook is a dual-unit nuclear site with a total generating capacity of 2,150 megawatts.
