COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 17, 2010 – American Electric Power (NYSE:AEP) is seeking offers on behalf of Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC) and its subsidiary company for the supply of Powder River Basin coal to one or more of its generating stations.
AEP is seeking one-year spot-coal delivery proposals for up to 3.5 million tons of Powder River Basin coal, delivered by rail, beginning Jan. 1, 2011, and for up to 1.5 million tons of Powder River Basin coal, delivered by rail, beginning Jan. 1, 2012. AEP is open to alternative pricing structures or other innovative, value-added concepts. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted.

OVEC and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation, were organized in October 1952 by 15 sponsoring utilities.
