COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 29, 2013 – American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) is seeking proposals for the supply of mid-sulfur and high-sulfur coal to one or more of its generating stations.
AEP is seeking coal delivery proposals for up to 300,000 tons of coal, delivered to the company’s Conesville Plant in Ohio, beginning in July 2013 and ending in December 2013. In addition, AEP is seeking proposals for up to 400,000 tons of coal, delivered by barge, beginning in October 2013 and ending in December 2013. AEP also is seeking term proposals for up to two million tons of coal, delivered by barge or rail, beginning in January 2014 and ending as late as December 2016. AEP may choose to transact on a specific year, or years, contained within a term proposal. Proposals with alternative terms will be accepted. Accepted bids will be at AEP’s discretion.
